Can anyone ever tell me if they have had the internal stitches not dissolve, but work their way out through the incision after a TKR? My Dr. says that it is rare, but it does happen. Well, it is happening to me & it is very painful!! I am 5 weeks post-op, so you would think that the stitches that they put in deep below the surface of the incision would've healed by now! I was told today that when I start seeing threads come through my incision that I need to come in & have them removed, which is a painful experience. I called my Dr. after having severe pain, dry, red patches & blister-looking bumps come up on my incision. I actually thought that I had shingles, it hurts so bad!
