Had menisectomy done in January. I had a lateral and a medial tear. The extreme pain I had before the surgery is gone, but I am very disappointed in how my knee feels now. I never had all of the crackling sounds and stiffness that I have now. I guess it is due to the removal of the meniscus. The doc plans to give me Euflexxa shots in a couple of weeks. One thread I read on here was very encouraging as far as the reduction of pain goes. I am just wondering how painful it is to actually get the injections. I feel like I am being a baby, but I just hate shots. I have gotten quite used to cortisone shots. Will they feel any worse than they do?
I found that the cortisone shot and the Euflexxa are equally painful. Some people have almost no pain from the injection at all, I was one of the "lucky" 11% who experienced a couple days of pain.
For my second injection, the guy mixed a little lidocaine in, which made it numb for a couple hours. I liked that much better!

My first injection was pretty painful, but the second was much better. I'm not sure why one would be more painful than the other, but it was. The good thing is that it is fast & doesn't take long! Hope it helps!!
