Well, if it's in the muscles, the solution would probably be stretching and massaging them. When stretching, you need to get all 4 main muscles around your knee, the hamstring, quadriceps, inner thigh and outer thigh. Any good source of information about stretching should have pictures of each stretch. The easiest way to massage your thigh is with a device called a foam roller. I can't quite describe how, look for a video of someone using a foam roller on their thigh muscles.
Or, it could be something else, so if stretching doesn't help, see a doctor.
