knee still swollen 8 mo after TKR
I had TKR on my rt knee on 10-3-11. I've gone through therapy and the whole 9 yds but still have pain and not the full use of my knee-especially coming down stairs. I walk a lot, do quads, use weights, ice and I don't know what else to do to get it back to nornal. It is an inch larger around and it protrudes out further than my "good" knee. I know my year will soon be up and I just wonder if anyone has any ideas of what I can do to HELP??? My dr said in March that he was sure I would be where I needed to be when I come back to his office in Oct. I don't think my knee is any better now that it was in March. I still have pain(Ibuprofen) and it is not bending. I called his office and the nurse was very short with me-told me to ice it. They would see me in Oct. I don't want to hear these words"YOU"LL JUST HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT" Can anyone help me-I'd somewhat disgusted-don't know where to turn. Thank you for any answers.
I'm a 74 yr old female and I know some of it is probably my age-but I'm in good health-willing to do whatever to get the use back.
