Ok, I have had a TKR on my left knee on May 29th. I am progressively getting worse instead of better and I am so sick and tired of my doctors telling me everything is normal. If this is normal, I wish I could have my old knee back. Supposely I have a sciatic nerve problem now which is effecting my left leg, behind my knee and down my calf. I have started PT again for this but does not seem to be helping. I can not stand up or walk for any length of time without being in excruciating pain. I have had to go back to pain pills and when I don't, I just might as well be seated. I feel like I am quickly becoming scooter bound.....has anyone been through this and can you please tell me how I can cure this problem. I am a very active person, and there are just some days I just want to sit and cry. Thanks for any help!!!
hi, have you considered an injection for the siatic nerve problem? That could help get you thru it, my Pain Mgt Dr. does mine. I'd ask for a referral for one to set one up. cj
I haven't had TKR yet but both of my knee's have been giving me alot of pain, burning, sharp pain jolts and hard to walk sometime. I have been going to the ortho dr and getting these shot in sets of three's in both knee's,and now have started on the other knee. The shots are filled with a thick fluid called Euflexxa, so far it has given me some comfort but it might not work the same for you since you had TKR, might be something to look into, good luck. I have two wore out knees from 30 years on the railroad, and I am trying to by-pass TKR anyway I can.
