Smile Knee Manipulation with Anesthesia and Possible Lysis of Adhesions

Went back in after 2 months post op having issues with popping NEXT to the joint, like somethign was catching. I had worked up to 98* - 100* (depending on which tool they used, the small or big one ....to measure. lol) Now because of swelling and pain, I am down to 90* and the popping sensation is getting even worse. In any case, he did an MRI which came back normal (first one I had done back in may came back normal when I in fact had a large tear down to the bone) he says that PT has reached me as far as I am going to go without intervention. He offered to do an injection but I declined since last time I had one done, it did more harm than good in terms of pain and he agreed it was only a short term solution. He wants to bring me back into the OR and do a manual manipulation under general anesthesia and he says if he feels any resistance, he wants to go in and scope and clean it up, etc. I told him it isn't the pain, or the swelling I am concerned with, it is the popping sensation at the incsion point. I am hoping that he will feel some sort of resistance and find the need to scope it out to see what is going on. . . What can I expect with this all??

Re: Knee Manipulation with Anesthesia and Possible Lysis of Adhesions

With my third hip scope, the doctor removed a good deal of scar tissue, which helped with a good deal of pain. Not sure if the doctor is expecting to find scar tissue or something else? Does he know of any less invasive means of removing/breaking up whatever he thinks is the problem?

He is going to do the knee manipulation which he hopes will break up the scar tissue but he is doing that at the same time in the OR so I won't know until I wake up if I will just need the knee manipulation or both that and the scope. He said those are the only two options to get me over the hump. And then he wants me on a cpm machine afterwards and PT the very next day (which in reality will be3 days later at the earliest since it is on a Friday. lol)
