Help please... question about my child's knee cap problems
My 8 year old daughter has had dislocating kneecaps (both knees) for a while now (at least several years). There has been no injury. it just seems to be how she was made. We took her to a pediatric ortho doctor this summer and she just had an MRI last week. The nurse called me back yesterday and told us that her knee cap grooves are "extremely shallow" and that the doctor wants us to come in to discuss our options on how to proceed.
From the first appointment, she has been in PT and in braces on both knees.
Here's my problem. I don't know what to research. I want to go into this appointment with some idea of what questions to ask. But I am having trouble finding any information about children with extremely shallow knee caps. Is this just that uncommon for a child as young as she is? Can anybody help me with what to expect at this appointment?
Re: Help please... question about my child's knee cap problems
I just found some interesting articles on the Internet (use your search engine). I don't know anything about this knee problem so don't know how helpful this research would be to you, but it is worth a try looking at the information.
Had two hip replacements about a year apart - the last one being August 2009.
