| knee pain
I have been bothered by pain on the outside of my left knee since August. There was no fall, accident, or any type of incident. No noise in the knee, no pain to the touch, no restriction in movement. Just pain.
In September my right shoelace got tangled up in a tent guideline, I was balancing on my left foot, and felt a slow pull in my left leg while I manuevered myself down to the ground to free myself. I sat and waited to see if there was an injury, and there did not appear to be.
Meanwhile, the pain never went away and has really intensified. I grit my teeth a lot, limp often, have a problem with balance, and have been walking very slowly for weeks.
I have iced and elevated my leg/knee when it is at its worst, have gone to bed with ice on my knee, have really cut back on my activities (including walking), tried an IT band and a patellar (?) band, have done the IT stretches I have found online, and have seen/felt no improvement.
The pain mostly remains on the outside of my left knee, but sometimes the pain seems to go down and across my shin to my ankle. I have an appt on the 15th of Dec. but really could use some suggestions between now and then.
