Total Hip Replacement

I had my left hip replaced on September 12th and I am still dealing with nerve pain and pain in my groin area. Has anyone had this nerve pain for this long and if so, when did it finally end. The surgeon tells me to hang in there and hopes it will get better but also said that it could be permanent.

Thanks for your replies

Re: Total Hip Replacement

I have had 2 hip replacements and there always was pain that I thought would never go away. Your surgery was only 2 1/2 months ago, so I would say give it more time. Everyone is different but I would say it takes 3-6 months to feel more normal and probably a year to be pretty much fully recovered. Stay positive and I bet the pain will go away before you know it. Remember whatever kind of pain you have now, can't be anywhere near as bad as the pain before the surgery. Good luck!!!!
