Hi!! Merry Christmas! I am 30 and have had knee problems for almost 20 years but I am trying my best to stay active. I am prone to luxation. An orthopedic surgeon said no surgery, I believe he said J-shaped derangement? I think it sounds like maybe I have loose ligaments that need repair and not just a bone issue? What causes most luxations?
Eitherway, it stinks that whenever I walk on even the slighted wet surface, my knees can and will dislocate briefly. It's kinda scary and an awful feeling. If I move poorly or twist myself, my knee will give and sometimes luxate for a second. It will render me in a brace for a few weeks and then I continue on and become active again. It's been tough.
So 2 questions.... is it true that a misaligned knee would make me prone to luxation or was I maybe misdiagnosed, maybe some of my ligaments are in need of surgical repair????
Also, ABOUT POSTURE AND STANDING...I have this tendancy to stand hyperextended all.the.freggin.time. I think it is because I am flatfooted, hyperflexible, and most recently, I have battled with a horrific case of plantar fasciitis (2 years) and now possibly PTTD. How should I stand?? How should I walk? I dont have a clue. Need your help!

xoxo
