Less than 24 hours post-op...

And I think I am in love with my doctor! Just kidding. But, I go for my day after follow up and I think I might hug him. I woke up able to see the digital clock on the cable box across the room and better still, I was able to see the clock on the vcr which is smaller and I could never see without my glasses in the morning! I actually had that ability last night a mere 7 hours post-op but, to wake up this morning able to see that way was...almost a tear jerker for me! My eyes are a little dry this morning but, nothing I can't handle. At least the antibiotics don't sting anymore. That was a bothersome bit yesterday. My right eye is the dryer of the two because it was the worst of the two so, it needed more correction. It is ever so slightly blurry but, again...nothing I am concerned or even all that bothered about.

For anyone considering this surgery but worried about the procedure...first, get the exam to see if you are a candidate and then, if you are, DO IT! Don't hesitate. Don't worry. I am the biggest baby about having my eyes, and more to the point, eye lids messed with. It freaks me out so bad. But, you hardly notice it. I can't deny that my left eye hurt a little in the upper left corner near my eyelashes but, I have unusually small eyelids and tiny features which makes it slightly more uncomfortable. But, it was only uncomfortable with the suction device which lasts for such a short period of time! DO IT! Don't deny yourselves this pleasure of waking up with better vision. The near euphoria that you experience when you go around looking for things you had a hard time seeing even with your glasses, and being able to see them better than you could with them, is phenomanally worth the minor discomforts and even the price of the procedure!

I am one pleased patient!

Awesome! Told ya it wasnt bad! And the suction thing, it feels more ODD than hurting I thought. IF they didnt tell you what was going on, you'd be freaking out, but it wasnt bad at all.

Glad to hear! What was your prescription again? And did your eyes get red at all around the pupil from the clamp/suction stuff? Mine were pretty red and broken bloody, but because my eyes are sensitive. My friend didnt have any redness...said it goes away in a few weeks...and its almost normal now..

Glad everything went ok! Isnt it amazing? :-D

Re: Less than 24 hours post-op...

The suction thing only hurt my eye lid area on my left eye. Just because I have small features. He told me that might happen due to my small features. My husband was watching my procedure and he said, after having watched 15-20 other procedures before me, that everything on me looked smaller. Even my eyes. They actually have a screen to watch as it is being done (for the spectators outside the room).

I didn't have any redness...not that I could see until after my eyes undialated. They aren't red today either.

My prescription was 20/50 Right 20/40 left with pretty high astigmatism. I can't remember how high. I just know that one of my eyes (I think my right) is a grain of sand over the level it needed to be to be able to use the wavefront technology...or something. I have learned so much, and have been told so much more, that I can't remember everything that got knocked into my head over the past nearly 3 weeks.

I can't wait to go to my followup tonight. I am looking forward to hearing why I am seeing right now! It has to be pretty great because, it feels pretty great!

And, to answer your question...yes! It is amazing! I couldn't be more pleased but, I know that as my eyes heal, I will be!

Re: Less than 24 hours post-op...

Hello Bright Eyes! I wanted to tell you, Thank you for all of your encouraging words along with Scion. The only post-op stinging I had was from the anitbiotic drops. That is pretty much just a memory from yesterday. I felt a minor sting with my noon-time drops and it is really just around my eye lids. I don't think it stings my eye. Weird huh?

Anyway, I look forward to healing even more! I can't imagine seeing better than I am now but, if it happens, I will be unimaginably happier...if that is possible. Hehehe!

I am glad that you are doing well too!
Thank you again for all your encouraging words pre-op!
