Blurry Vision? Still Waiting!

Me again, Ok I had sugery 17 days ago and still very blurry... trying to be patient really. Actually when I first wake up in the day they are the BEST and then they go downhill, I am using drops almost every hour, wondering mostly WHY they are best when I first wake up and then they go crazy and blurry? People have said it will improve within a month, so waiting. But almost seems like it is getting worse?? Dr. told me a few days ago that my vision is almost perfect, but by the end of January it should settle down. It's just really blurry, still afraid to drive and get out. Signs out in the car are all blurry when looking around. What is the best way to heal correctly?? Avoid reading for long times, avoid computer? I guess I heard so many people say they had perfect vision right away I jumped into it and now wondering if I regret it and if it will eventually be worth it? Right now it definitely is NOT normal vision! I've heard most people say it is blurry in the morning and then gets better? I'm the opposite! huh??

Send any tips and comfort my way, I'm just getting impatient and want my life back... yes only 2 weeks I know.. but I guess I expected more.... already.

Thanks
Cari

Re: Blurry Vision? Still Waiting!

Cari,
Have you had your doctor check your eyes for dryness. My eyes are a bit blurry when they are too dry. Sometimes your eyes can be dry and you can't really feel it. Maybe you should try a gel or ointment at night. I use Moisture Eyes PM at night and it helps my eyes to feel a lot better when I get up.

Re: Blurry Vision? Still Waiting!

It took me like a month or 5 weeks to recover. I had Lasek, not lasik b/c my cornea was too thin. It hurt like crazy and I developed a corneal haze in one eye (nice!!) It was driving me crazy but it went away. I would definetely recommend to use your eyes the least. I used to get headaches when I forced my eyes.

Now I see pretty well and I'm glad I had that surgery b/c I couldn't even read a book or watch tv without my contacts.

Re: Blurry Vision? Still Waiting!

Thanks everyone for your replies! I am definitely noticing that lubricating a lot makes a big difference, and also resting my eyes throughout the day, either laying down or just sitting for a half hour with them shut.... slowly they are getting a little better each day, only 3 weeks today and Dr. said between 3-6 weeks. So trying to be patient, but have impatient days here and there where I am worried. But trying to keep my hopes up, there is definitely improvement! What are the variety of night Brand gels and drops you can use at night to improve your eyes? I am overseas so not sure of everything that is available, but I will check with my Dr. But please list a few, whoever has time.

Oh and I wasn't actually up posting at 4 a.m., I'm living overseas right now so I am 8 hours ahead of the US. It was noon here.

Cari
