my son is scheduled to have lasik surgery next Friday Ive been reading alot about problems caused by "dry eyes" has anyone had these plugs inserted and were they helpful?-do you still need to use drops?

I had my procedure on Feb 16 and yes had the plugs put it. yes you still need to use drops. I can't imagine how dry my eyes would have been without the plugs!

I had plugs put in a couple of weeks after my procedure. They have helped me a little bit, but I've still had a lot of dry eye problems. I think that even if you get plugs you will still need to use drops. I would make sure that your lasik provider does a tear test. Then he/she will be able to advise you on the plugs.
