Intralase scheduled for 10/3 - Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

OK, I've been screened and even had a second opinion-both said I'm a good candidate. Surgeon is experienced and has a great reputation. Clinic seems very professional with latest equipment. He recommended "Intralase".

Can anyone share their experiences with Intralase? Better/worse/different than other techniques? Thanks!!

*I'm 30, have -4.5 & -4.0, slight astigmatism both eyes, contacts irritate my eyes, have to wear glasses-no dry eye with glasses

i had intralase and it was great.... see previous posts for the full story. my vision was -5.25 in both eyes and now i see 20/12.5 in both eyes!

I'm 34, I had -4.50 in one eye and -4.25 in the other with astigmatism prior to Lasik. I just had custom wavefront w/ intralase on 8/30. I've never had any of the other procedures so I can't compare them but I can tell you that I'm very happy with the results. On the day after surgery, I had 20/25 in one eye and 20/30 in the other. I could read the 20/20 line when using both eyes. From everything I've been told and read, my vision will continue to improve over the next several months, but even if it doesn't, I would still be happy.

Dry eye is a very normal side affect during the healing process. Some days are worse than others for me. For example, yesterday, I was using the lubricating drops about every 20 minutes but today I've only had to use them every 3-4 hours. From what I've read, the dry eye can last for several months so I'm stocking up on the drops.
