How long does it feel like contact lenses?? haha - Lasik Eye Surgery Message Board

My eyes are good, just a little dry, feels like I have in contacts...how long does that last?? I can't wait to not feel anything!!!! LOL!

hmmmm.... i still occasionally feel like i need to go take out my contact lenses..... and i had lasik in december of 06! i think it's partly because my eyes still get dry and feels like i am wearing my contacts, and partly because contacts were such a big part of my routine for so long that i am still stuck in the habit! i still try to put my glasses on first thing in the morning, and i have better than perfect vision! it doesn't happen as frequently as it used to though. i guess eventually it will go away.... i'll let you know if it does!

PS - if your eyes are feeling dry, use your artificial tears more often! this will speed up your healing time too!

For me it was a couple of weeks that my eyes felt scratchy like there was something in them, and then off and on for the next month or so. Use your eye drops A LOT. You can't overdo it with the drops so use them several times and hour for the few couple weeks and several times a day after that. It shouldn't be more than a couple weeks that they feel scratchy all the time like there is a contact in them.
