One week ago I had my lasik procedure done to correct my farsightedness (+3 in left eye, +2.5 in my right). I opted for the CustomVue Wavefront lasik with Intralase. Since the day of my surgery I've seen ZERO improvement in my vision and am getting extremely worried. I haven't been able to return to work, haven't been able to drive, can't watch tv, can't read anything without seriously straining my eyes. This has become a nightmare and I'm really regretting getting his procedure done at this point. My left eye seems to be getting worse as the days go by to the point where it has almost become useless, the blurriness is about 50% worse in my left eye than it is in the right. Even writing this right now is pretty hard to see what I'm typing. The day after my surgery I went in for a check-up which lasted all of 5 minutes, I went in and the doc asked me to read the line chart and I could barely make out the 20/40 line it was VERY blurry. The doctor gave me a card that said I had 20/40 vision and was able to drive, but I couldn't drive at all. I can't judge how far cars are, can't see any street signs, nothing. I voiced my concern about the blurriness and was told that it's normal. Is it really though? It's been a full week and each day I wake up and pray that I will at least have SOME improvement in my eyes, but nothing, my eyes are exactly the same the day I left the clinic. Is this normal healing? Shouldn't I be seeing even marginal improvement in my vision? I can't help but think somewhere along the line, something went wrong. Any advice would be appreciated.
If you are located in the United States,I would suggest an attorney to assist you
in some immediate action.Our judicial system affords more protection for the
individual than most countries,I believe.At any rate,please get someone to start
some action,whatever it takes.This situation must be addressed immediately.

You should have seen some improvement, however, on the brighter side, it has only been one week and it really does taKe alot of time(weeks and months) for some to see real progress. So, do not get freaked out just yet. You have good reason for concern but try to relax(I know its unnerving at first). Hey, dont give these docs ANY reason to brush you off. When I go in for an exam and I can not read the line with clarity(a good degree of sharpness) then I tell them plainly "cant read it". Sorry, they are not getting off that easy. They even wanted me to squint. What? I dont play that game. If its not fairly sharp and clear, its unreadable. Simple as that.
I had left eye cataract surgery a year ago and I am 10 times worse. Blurry vision and large posterior detached vitreous and left peripheral involvement. I have not driven at night or read a newspaper or written a letter or sign a check, etc. since this procedure. I cannot even read the labels on my pill bottles. I was fired twice by this doctor. I reported his actions to his superiors and the school and got no where. They said he did everything right and i am old and these must be from aging and not getting use to the IOL he placed. I asked why he fired me and why he chose the lens he did and I was told that I am not entitled to an answer as I was fired. So, I stuck a pin in a Voo Doo doll that a friend gave me and will sit and wait to see his fate. I saw on a FDA site others complaining also after Lasix and cataract surgery that they also suffered with large detached posterior vitreous, blurry vision and many of them are in their thirties and forties. Age my foot. This can happen after eye surgery and all eye surgeons know this. This doctor said I was the only one that has ever complained and he cannot handle this. He has a perfect record, he said. My life will never be the same. My heart goes out to all those who had bad results from eye surgery. I feel your pain.
You are SO EARLY in the recovery period! Hang in there! My eyes are still blurry, but SO MUCH improved over what they were at first. Not enough improvement that I don't need an enhancement, which I will probably soon do, but better. I will tell you something very frustrating, but what they told me to do. Wait for your eyes to heal. It will get better, and if it doesn't maybe enhancement would work for you too. I don't know...farsightedness is different maybe? I don't know anything about it. hang in there!
