When Lasik surgery doesn't go well what's really frustrating is not having anyone to turn to since the people at your Lasik provider are likely to give responses that best cover their butts. Meanwhile, you're left with subpar vision. They may be honest but they will still spin things in the most favorable light for them. Oh, if I only knew then what I know now. This "ideal candidate" wound up with less than ideal eyesight after the procedure. And I've learned that the place I went to took some shortcuts during the process. They didn't go the extra mile and I'm paying the price. It's infuriating. I don't know what to do. I just know I'm very angry and disheartened about the whole thing. I wouldn't recommend Lasik to anyone because I wouldn't want to be responsible for any problems they might have. I think people who give glowing recommendations because things went well for them are putting someone else's eyes in jeopardy. The most they should say is, "My Lasik surgery turned out great but that doesn't mean that yours will."
The risks are usually downplayed by the Lasik providers, themselves. People with minor issues usually report being satisfied with the procedure, which further skews the results.
