I HAVE A STEP SON THAT IS 10 YRS OLD HE WAS IN THIRD GRADE AND HE FELT BECAUSE HE READ BY HE DONT COMPREHENDING WHAT HE READ, I REALLY THINK THAT HE HAVE SOME LEARNING PROBLEMS TOGETHER WITH PSICOLOGY PROBLEMS, I MAKE A APPT FOR TO GET HIM EVALUATE AND FIND OUT. BUT IS REALLY FRUSTRATED THIS SITUATION AND I AM REALLY TRYING TO WK WITH THIS .
I LOVE HIM HE IS SPECIAL BUT SOMETIMES I DONT KNOW IF I AM DOING THE WRIGHT THING FOR HSTENG , AND HE FORGOT EVERYTHING.
BUT THE SAD PART IS THAT THE SCHOOL DOEST WORK WITH US AS PARENT, I THINK WHEN THE SCHOOL SEE THAT U ARE A RESPONSABLE THEN THE SCHOOL SEAT AND DONT HELP THAT MUCH.... I HAVE TO BE CALLING THE SCHOOL ALL THE TIME SO I CAN GET SOMETHING DONE... THAT IS ANOTHER FRUSTRATION.
IF U THINK U HAVE MY SAME SITUATION AND KNOW HOW TO HELP ME PLEASE LET ME KNOW...... AND IF IS SOME SPANISH SPEAKING CAN WRITE BACK TO ME TOO... THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP

you might try contacting your local school board and talk to someone in the the exceptional student departments and explain thae situation to them maybe they can expediate the screening process for the evaluations that your child needs. best of luck to you. my grand child has many of theses same learning problems she is in the exceptional student program she is in specail classes in her school she was screened therough the school . i understand your frustrations you must be insistant with the schools and contact the social worker at the school if you get no where callt he school board or go there and talk with a supoervisor as a taxpayer you have the right there is a program called no child left behind insist on it for your child this is for specail needs kids and a child with learning problems fall in that catagory please let me know how you come out

Thanks For Your Opinion And I Want To Let U Know That I Already Contact The School Board And The School And Hopefully By Next Week They Will Have A Meating Where They Are Going To Decide If He Need Special Education. Is Frustrated But I Dont Have The Heart To Give Up Because I Love Him Like My Son..... But Thanks For Your Help. Your Message Help Me And Gave Me Support

Keep calling the school, keep bugging them. That is the only way you are going to get them to do anything. My daughter has some learning disabilities, and I am in her class all the time. I check over her work she brings home and if I find something that she is having trouble with, or that she couldn't do..I take it back to school and ask them what they are going to do to help her learn this. You HAVE to keep on them all the time.
