| CAPD - fourth grader
How can I help a child with CAPD to increase his speed in finishing assignments in school and homework. It takes hours every night to complete his assignments. He has a multiplication time test, reads for 20 minutes and then write a narrative, summarizing what he read, one page of math, studying for spelling test - 15 words(writing each one 5 times) and writing a sentence for each word (due at end of the week). At least once a week, study for chapter Math or science test. (average assignment every night). His teacher states he almost never finishes this classroom assignments and often has to leave the room to complete them. He does between C- and A- on all his tests. He is good at multiplication time test and problems. His reading is not as good as it could be. He is in a reading class after school three times a week (provided by the school).
