Hey everyone. What is the primary cause of Mental Retardation? Is it Down Syndrome? Also, sorry if I did not use the politically correct term for Mental Retardation. I do not know what the correct term is if it is not "Mental Retardation".

Mental redardation covers many areas of lesser cognitive ability, intelligence and ability to learn/handle daily living skills. Generally an IQ below 75 or so is considered to be retardation. While Down Syndrome is one major cause, there are many others including, but not limited to: fargile X syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, injuries, malnourishment, etc.
