Can they tell if you have leukemia from a blood test in the office?My son(3yrs old) had sudden pain in legs and then fever of 102.His white blood count was 28.Chest xray was fine,urine was fine.They took blood for a blood culture that will be back in a few days.Gave him an antibiotic shot and now he feels fine.My question is,are they checking for leukemia or would they have seen that right away?? Thanks for helping.

In response to your question. The only true way the Drs. can positively identify leukemia is through a bone marrow biopsy. That way they can tell for sure if your son has leukemia.
