help- what to give someone in hospital

Hi, I need your help. My cousin's wife's 9 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia. I want to help. What do people who are spending a long time in the hospital enjoy as gifts (for both mom or and son)

Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks!

How about a hand held video game? Kids love those and it will help keep him occupied during his hospitalizations.

Video games are good, but one of the best gifts my daughter got while in the hospital for leukemia was a Kodak Easy Share camera with the printer. They go for about $130.00. She had lots of fun snapping pictures of mom & dad and the nurses and then hung them all over the walls. With each admission, this came with us.

Good luck

How about a portable DVD player and some movies?

I have a most excellent idea---one that will bring humor, education, and creativity to everyone in the room! Not to mention I absolutely adored it at age 9 and still do: MADLIBS. Are you familiar with MadLibs?
