Don't know what to do, need advice please! - Leukemia Message Board

My son (16) was diagnosed with Leukemia today and treatment starts tomorrow, what steps do I need to take to protect him when he returns home. What kind of desinfection? what do I need to do in the house to prevent infection?

I know it is hard to find out someone you love has something like that! I think I have luekemia too :[ But dont worry. Your son is going to be fine! The treatment will work really good and he will come home happy! Dont worry about anything!

hi.when i came out we dident go ott with the infection stuff.just make sure the house is clean as normal,pets are a high source of infection and remember to stick to the food do's and dont's.just the usual things like washing your hands after toilet ect and all should be fine.oh,and remember to keep people with colds ect away.......

Sorry to hear that, but when they released me from the hospital, to prevent infection, my ma just had the whole house clean, threw out anything that she thought held too many germs. & we always [ & still do ] have the Lysol sprays, wipes & Germ-X around. It's not as hard as you think it is.
