I was diagnosed the first week of Nov 2009. I had a week of Chemo, five days, two hours a day of Claberdine (check spelling) followed by 17 days of Neuprogen injections at home. I was pretty sick for about three weeks and could not not have worked. My white blood levels returned to accepable levels after three weeks, except for my B-cells. I am working now and am slowly regaining my strength. I would guess that my physical strength was cut in half by the Chemo, but am slowly returning to normal. I am a 64 year old male and probably had Hairy Cell since 2001. I had a lot of minor illnesses and infections during the past year which led to the diagnosis. Try to avoid any large indoor crowds, including Church, theaters, airplanes, buses, etc. I still go to restaurants, Walmart, etc. Good luck and God Bless.
