When my 3 year old grandson was first diagnosed, he ran a high fever for days...They told us it was the leukemia causing it...He was initially hospitalized for a week...after that, he had no more fevers, unless be became sick..As the cancer cells take over the red blood in the child's body, the body will try and fight it off: producing the fever. But once treatment starts, then the fever should go away...If you have concerns about a child, take them to a children's hospital if possible...I know chemo drugs can affect the appetite...
