Smile Chemo question for aml
My brother is diagnosed with aml and due to his age has been given 3 rounds of vidaza without success. Should he continue
with vidaza or try something else? The doctor said he would
think about it over the weekend. He is otherwise healthy and
has never been to the hospital until this diagnoses.
Would appreciate ideas.

There are several forms of chemo the doctors can use. Often they use a combo of 2 or 3 paced several days apart.

How old is your brother? Alot of decisions regarding chemo is based on whether there are other health issues and the age of the patient. If there are other health issues or if he is above or below a certain age the doctors may be limited in their choices. Is your brother at a major medical center, like a major research hospital?
