New to this - Is this normal?
My 6 year old daughter had vomiting and had diarrhea couple of days back but no fever and doc did her blood test. Her WBC count came as 18,000 and doc called and said, nothing to worry and she might be just fighting with an infection. But, I am still worried like crazy. Now she is totally fine and no other symptoms anymore. Should I be concered about Leukemia and get a second opinion or request another blood test? Please help.

You only need to worry if she shows any other abnormal symptoms such as extreme tiredness. She presumably had gasto-enteritis and that would cause a sudden rise in WBC as the immune system fights the infection. Children usually support and recover from such infections much better than adults. If she is back to normal, there is no need to subject her to the trauma of another blood test.
