some can be, but there are alot of treatments available, and there are quite a few different types of leukemia. It would depend what type of chronic also, if it is chronic lymphocyte leukemia, go to clltopics.org, it tells everything about it. But wait and see, it could be alot of other things. If the dr, is a general practicioner, they don't really know anything about leukemia, you need to get a hematologist.
My husbands doctor has not confirmed it but says 80% chance he has chronic leukemia, His liver is enlarged. Can this disease be fatal
no, enlarged spleen is a symptom of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. are you sure its enlarged liver or spleen. CML is not fatal infact it has the lowest mortality rate. As there are targetted drug therapy like Imatinib which has least side effects, its well tolerated and keeps disease very well under control. I have been living with CML for last 8 years have had Bone Marrow Tansplant and now currently on Imatinib. Doing very well. So don't worry!!
