| Where do you find blasts on blood labs?
My daughter has been very ill for several weeks. When a CBC is ordered with differential, I can see the breakdown of Neutrophils, Lymphocytes, Eosonophils, etc. But I don't see any information on whether or not "blasts" are present or whether or not there is a "left shift" etc. Do you have to request that a blood lab look for such things? Or is it done automatically and if there is no information one way or the other does that means none are seen? I'm just wondering if there needs to be a specific instruction to look for blasts in a CBC with differential.
