| Leukemia or Lymphoma anyone?
What a year 2010 and now 2011 has been for me bouncing around to doctors for abdominal pains and migraines with nothing ever really found or diagnosed. To make a long story short, I was taking 2 amitriptyline nightly prescribed by neurologist to calm my migraine symptoms. At first I was taking 1 a night (bedtime) then he bumped it up to two as it didn't seem to be working. At around this time, I started having night sweats just about every night. Usually the sweats seem to kick on an hour after I fall asleep, I wake up and grab a towel and everything seems to be fine. This was about 4 to 5 weeks ago.
I told my neurologist about it, he did a Complete Blood Count (CBC) and thyroid check on me and told me to cut back and stop taking the amitriptyline. I have stopped taking the amitriptyline over a week now and the night sweats continue. So over a month now of consistent night sweats in a normal room with just a sheet usually on me.
I went to my family doctor this week and he looked me over, and didn't find any noticeable lumps in my neck or armpits. I have NO other symptoms of anything just night sweats. I caught a cold last week I’m still trying to shake off but other than that, I feel fine and have actually gained some winter weight despite my best efforts!
So my PCP is sending me to an oncologist and everything I'm reading seems to indicate I may either be looking at lymphoma or leukemia. My CBC came back normal with my White Blood Count being 6.7 but my MCH was little high at 32.4. My PCP has ordered more blood work including the Liver Functions test (his favorite I think) and something called SED(sp?) I believe.
So I'm curious as to those of you have been diagnose with either, what were your symptoms in the beginning? So far mine only seem to be 4+ weeks of daily night sweats. Thanks for your time.
