Niece with APL Lukiemia
Hello my niece has just been diagnosed with APL Lukiema. I would like to find anything and everything on it to assist in her treatments and to educate myself. I am devistated. She is 18 and very active and outgoing. I can only pray at this point and become familiar with this disease. Please anyone help me to understand whats to come. she just had a blood transfusion yesterday. she found out friday she had it.. whats next???

I was diagnosed with APL Leukemia on November 13th, 2010. I'm sure you have heard by now that according to many this is the best strain to get......if you have to get any. Treatment is usually standard chemotherapy consisting of cyterabine and idarudicine plus a pill called ATRA or vesenoid which is a high dose vitamin A.
