hi, I really really need some advise for my 4 year old
she has for the last 6 months suffered from chicken pox, really bad cold, 3 UTI's (e coli) and 2 bouts of tonsilitus, and in between has the same symptons approx every 3 weeks were her temp spikes, she is unwell for 2/3 days, goes off food and sleeps alot, then is fine for about 3 weeks then it happens again!
I have been in and out of the docs till i am blue in the face but the last few bouts her temp has got really high (39oc+) she crys all the time i the night with tummy ache, complains of headaches, is really tired, pale, and conplains of headaches and at the last fever spike kept saying her leg was hurting!
I finally got the doc to do blood tests on thur of last week and got a phone call the next day to say she was anemic and had low white blood cell count and neutrophil count. Also that if her temp spiked to take her straight to hospital!
she is already under a consultant due to the repeated uti's and the docs faxed the results straight over to him on friday, I asked what they were going to do about the anemia and they told me her consultant would deal with it! is this normal as our gp should be able to treat this?
please please, any advise or thoughts greatly appriciated as I am very worried about her

her igG has come back normal, but needs repeat tests for C something????? is the fact her sub class IgG is normal a good sign? the doctors were thinking she had a bad virus and the test would show what antibodies are in play so they knew what virus!
I'm sorry- I cant help you at all as I have no knowledge of this, but I saw your post & just wanted to give you my support. You must be so worried! Lets hope that it is a virus that they can identify & then treat with the right antibiotics. Try not to worry & please let us know how you get on!

She took really ill again 2 weeks ago and ended back up in hosp. They said it was tonsilitis again but because her temp was so high they couldnt send her home!
she has since had an ultrasound, blood tests and a nuclear scan yesterday and due more blood tests on fri
Her consultant has her booked in to be admitted for more tests next time she takes ill, which at the mo is about every 3 weeks! in the meantime we are just waiting for all the scan results as she has an issue with her waterworks too
hospital bag packed just waiting now.............
consultant thinks it may be autoimmune?

Autoimmune? Gosh- she is so young to have all this....... Lets hope there is a magic drug out there for her, though with Autoimmune disease it often takes a while to find the right treatment. Please keep me posted!

Is there any types of auto immune problems in the family, good place to look back and see, my two auto immune problems are all through my family. Hope all turns out well. Handy if you have all this info for the doctors.

as far as i am aware no autoimmune disorders in the family so i am really hoping its nothing down that route, we shall have to see just waiting now on test results and her next temp spike she is being admitted for more tests too
hi there, no problems, have contacted members of the family and no one at all! so strange if she is the only one with it :/ we see the specialist in a month so hopefully may get to bottom of it
