Quick Question - Liver & Pancreas Disorders Message Board

I was at my doctor's last Thursday. He listen to four places on my back, asked if I had been nauseas or vomiting. I said no. He went back over to make notes on my sheet, and said he was also going to test my liver.

I'm 25, a type 2 diabetic. I was there to get some blood tests done, anyway (insulin production). I can't figure out A.) why he asked if I was nauseas or vomiting and B.)if that would have anything to do with my liver. Or what he heard that prompted the question about nausea and if THAT had anything to do with my liver.

I didn't make any of these connections until I got home, so I didn't think to ask him. I know liver/kidney fuctions are normal tests for diabetics, but he didn't seem to think about it until after he listened to me.

I should be getting a card in the mail soon with the results. And I figure if they had found anything that needed treatment, they would have called. But its buggering me now.

I just wanna know. Curiousity and all that.

When I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in Sept.of 03 my doctor called and had me come in to his office, my results for my liver where elevated but I recieved those results in the mail. He retested my liver functions and they were still elevated and he called me with the results this time. If they were ok I would have gotten them in the mail.

So unless your doctor calls you back than the results weren't anything to call about and have you come in. If he finds the results unsatisfactory than if he is a good doctor he'll call you back in.

So I wouldn't worry wait until you recieve your results via mail otherwise the doctors office will have you come in.

Yeah, I just got my card in the mail from the doctor, with the little "all results are satisfactory" box checked.
