tiny lesion of liver - help???

Just received a ct scan report that indicates that I have a tiny lesion on my liver possibly 6 mm in size. I have not been able to get a hold of my doctor and am scared to death!!!

Anyone have any experience in this?? Is it something I need to be concerned about???

I don't know about a "lesion", I suppose it could be scar tissue or a number of things. I do, however, have "cysts" on my liver, they have been there for more than 30 years. The doctors say they are not dangerous and not to worry. Surely your doctor would have contacted you immediately if it were anything very serious. I wish you luck.

Re: tiny lesion of liver - help???

I had an ultrasound done about two years ago and the doctor informed me that I had a tiny lesion on my liver. He stated that it was a hemangioma and that I was most likey born with it. He also said that I would need to have it checked every couple of years to be certain that it doesn't grow in size. The hemangioma was described as a bunch of blood vessels that are clumped together. I had it checked again when I before I had my gallbladder removed and it was still the same size. He said it was nothing to really worry about. Hope this helps!
