last time i had a liver test was in 03 ast/285 alt 305 and going up! i quit drinking for a while but started again. for about the last year ive been bindge drinking 1 or 2 days a week just about every week. no every time i drink when i sober up my r/side hurts for 4 or 5 days what is this? and also for a day or 2 afterwards dark stool....besides that thats it.im kinda worried and have stopped drinking all together am i gonna die? im really scared what do i look for....im 41 i only started drinking booze in 96 on and off kinda hard any advice or things to look for would help alot..........Steve

Hard to say, how much do you drink when you binge?

It might just be your liver giving you a gentle kick to tell to ease up a bit. I'd go see your doctor just for piece of mind

I am just really suprised that you haven't had any sort of followup labs or seen a doc since 03??Or are you using the standard"if i ignore it it will go away approach"that so many of us do when we hear the bad news?You really really do need to stay on top of this before it all gets out of hand.Quitting drinking is probably the best possible move on your part,really.Your liver will never recover if you are continually placing it in these dangerous situations.When was the last time you saw your doc or had any labs done?You really do need to see your doc and follow whatever plan he tells you to follow.Your labs back in 03 were really really high.hopefully they are not still way out of range.Depending on just what IS wrong with your liver will dictate the proper treatment.But you just simply cannot keep on drinking anymore.that part of your life just has to be over now,really.if you are having problems with alcohol talk to your doc aboput it and start going to regular AA meetings.Possible alcohol treatment may help as well?I don't know your situation so the choice is really up to you on what your real needs are.But you DO have to take some sort of action here asap.you have to start taking care of yourself and your liver or you will lose it.i watched my then 12 year old son go through the horrers of liver failure and subsequent Tx.Trust me, you don't want to go there.make an appt on mon to see your doc and really find out just how bad things are with your liver right now so you can form a plan of action.You really do need to do this as soon as you possibly can.The time to deal with all of this is now.You just cannot go on ignoring this and hoping it will go away.I tried this with my son and it did not work.I was in denial.I hope things are not to a really bad point and there is things you can still do to make your situation better.Just make that appt with your doc and if you really do feel that you have an alcohol problem, please do whatever is necsescary(sp?) to stay away from it.I wish you luck.please keep me posted K?Marcia
