| Re: ? on high level ALK Phos test
Growing bones release ALK PHOS, so kids naturally have much higher levels ("normal"). An adult with ALP of 364 seems high, but I'd never rule out test error to begin with. Get it rechecked in a few weeks or months, and if it's still that high, you need to discuss it with your doctor. If he blows it off as "nothing", get a new doctor. THey can do a test to see if it's from the liver or bones. BTW My ALP has been mildly elevated for at least 10yrs for no apparent reason. It is about 10-20% above the HIGH level.
