Hello,

I'm really worried about my liver.. I went to the doctors on friday and had a blood test because my veins were showing more than usual and i was itchy. She said the veins was probably nothing though.
The results came back and she said I'm low on Iron and give me some tablets to take. Also she wants me to go back for another blood test for my Liver.
I keep looking things up on the internet & i know i shouldn't but i'm worried it could be cancer or something.

So scared, i'm only 18. Does anyone have any similar symptoms or any ideas?

I don't think you have anything to worry about, if your dr. saw something that seemed to be an emergency she would have sent you right away. Do you have any other signs, like dark urine (like pepsi color), clay colored stools, yellowing of the skin, upper right quadrant pain?

I think you are doing way too much worrying, try to take it easy and wait for the test, I'm sure it will turn out fine.

Thank you for replying... I'm off to the doctors in about half an hour for the blood test. I'm going to ask the doctor about it.

I don't have anything like that, I keep having.. well it's not so much 'pain' it's just an aching feeling around the bottom of my ribs, which kinda scares me.

I hope your doc. appt goes well..I have been having a dull ach in my right ribs to since christmas..I have had 2 ct scans and a ultrasound..The only thing that they can find right now is that i had some fatty filtration on my liver..which they think its from tylonal 3 that i have been taking on and off since july...I do not think my pain has to be because of my liver because now i have been getting sharps pains on my left to now..so i do not know what it is..Anyways I just wanted to say good luck at your doc appt and not to worry..I know its easier said then done..
