There is no cure for cirrhosis. It's a progressive disease. Pancratitis can also cause fever, chills and Jaundice. Your mothers doctors can do blood tests to determine if she is having liver problems. If she is then normally a biopsy is done to determine how much damage has been done. Cirrhosis is the last stage of liver disease. If damage to the liver is caught and identified in time and what's causing the damage can be eliminated it is possible for the liver to rejuvinate.
If your mom is still having a fever and cold sweats/shivers and is yellow (Jaundice) the ER may be an option. If not I would follow up with her doctor and aske them what lab work they did. Did they do a liver panel? If so, what were the results.
