Greetings,

I am curious if a single, isolated incident of cocain use can temporarily raise ALT and AST levels? If so, how long would it take for them to drop back down to normal? Thanks for your feedback!

Well, I'm not an expert, but ever drug has to go through the liver. How much is a single use of cocain? Did you just have your liver tested?

i really cannot imagine that cocaine would even actually have any real effects on the liver itself.espescially a one time useage.i think the bigger concern here would either be what the coke was actually "cut" with,or you could possibly have some sort of undrlying liver or other GI related issue.i just don't think that coke would do that all by itself.

i would think since coke would be delivered directly into the mucous membranes and directly into the blood stream,the kidneys would be what it would affect more than the liver,but hey,i could be wrong.were there any other labs out of range and just how out of range were your alt and ast,and how long after the use did you have your labs done?Marcia

I agree. Another board was asking about marajuana, and they were saying that although it may not effect your organs directly, there is no way to tell the freshness of your drugs - and obviously no regualtions - so you could be taking in various bacterias, fugus, spores and who knows what else.
