Well, your first visit may seem mundane. But he/she will ask questions, will get a medical history. They will get some blood to accomplish tests to fully evaluate the functions of the liver. They may even refer you or schedule you for an ultra sound. They will discuss treatment with you and a course of action. Then they will schedule a follow up appointment to go over what the results of the tests where.
I suggest you write down questions you have for the doctor ahead of time. Once you get into the doctors office, you can get nervous and forget what you wanted to ask. (been there done it!) Be honest with them. Don't let them rush you. Make sure they explain everything to you until you are comfortable with it and understand the treatment. If your nervous, let the doctor know. If they are going over the information too fast let them know that as well. It can be alot to absorb.
Let us know how it goes.
