Seven months ago I spent 6 days in the hospital after having my abdomen opened up 11 inches and my liver resectioned due to a 4 cm hemangioma and gallbladder removed.
I spent the following 3 months in horrible pain, and did alot of complaining here. Thanks for listening.
About 2 months ago, what I thought was the numbness of the surgery finally wearing off, I started to "feel" my liver again. The pain at the top of the incision, top and center of abdomen has always hurt (since the surgery). Anyway, now I feel like I've got a grapefruit in me!! So I urged the necessity to my nurse practioner (will we ever see a Dr again??) to have another CT scan because I'm sick of the pain and I want answers! So Thursday I went for the imaging.
Sure enough, there is another hemangioma on my liver and a herniation in the scar of the incision.
So, does anyone know how long I can let the hernia go? And what would happen if I don't have it fixed??? Does anyone know WHY we get bleeders in the liver???
My next step is to start the round of Dr's visits... compare the new tumor to the old one... The thought of going through that surgery again is unbearable.
