| Saw GI today, but still will need to wait and see
I saw my GI today and looked at some recent blood work and checked me out. She didn't think that there was an issue with my liver (or pancreas) due to the location of my discomfort in combinationation with my blood work. I'll be going for and endoscopy and colonoscopy. I still think it's a liver issue becuase the discomfort seems to flank the liver, although the discomfort at my lower right ab is a few inches lower than where my liver is. Since I was a heavy drinker for so many years and only being 37, it would seem unlikely to have a colon issue, but you never know.
I asked if there could still be an issue with my liver but she said only a biopsy could tell. Shouln't a CT and ultrasound shed light on to wether or not I have a potential liver problem? I would rather not have such an invasive procedure if it's just purely based on my drinking history and nothing else. Has anybody had a biopsy and is it a very painful procedure?
