| Re: Joint Pain and liver function?
I may be a little late in answering to you request for info about if liver problems can cause joint pains, the answer is in some cases yes..I have a Genetic liver dis-order called Haemochromatosis which means that the liver became overloaded/Saturated with Iron which were then being passed to my joints, causing Arthritis , the treatment I receive for this liver condition is called blood-letting( a pint of blood was taken from me for a number of weeks until my Iron level reached a near normal level ) , I was having problems with my joints( Arthritis) long before anyone had Diagnosed me with Haemochromatosis ,mainly my back, Ankles Knees,Shoulder, amongst other joint problem ( especially trying to keep hold of the lawnmower motor trigger, I used to use a old plastic shower curtain hook to slip over the lever when I had the trigger in position... which I found very helpful) I was informed by my liver specialist that my Arthritis and other problems which I have were caused by my liver condition
Best Wishes
