| Re: Help for my yellow sister-in-law!
it does sound very much like jaundice which could have many possible causes, like the above poster stated, the GB and the liver are the most likely suspects, but pancreatitis can do this too.she has a higher than normal billiruben level in her blood.that just means that when the old red blood cells die, they are not being properly disposed of thru the normal process so they tend to build up within the blood.that is what causes the yellowish cast to her skin.with my son,it was really really orangey colored, but started out as yellow, espescially in his eyes.considering she has abdominal pain could indicate many things too.something is just not working properly within the GI tract/organs.testing of blood and other enzymes will help but certain types of scans would also help alot in pinning down the actual reason for the jaundice.it could a simple as a stone blockage or a more involved issue.hopefully now that she is in a good hospital with the right docs and testing availiable you wont have to wait too long for an actual Dx of what is causing her symptoms.hopefully it can be easily treated.i wish you both luck and hope things go well for her.please keep us posted on whatyou find out,K?
