Re: why do an ultrasound on my liver?

normally a doc wont refer you for this type of test unless there was a problem with some liver labs??do you know what your current liver labs are like right now?if something didn't look right on that lab sheet or if he felt a larger than normal liver upon palpating your abdominal area, these would all be indicators for a liver US.he is just trying to check out what the liver looks like, any possible abnormalities and most important, the blood flow thru the liver, mainly the portal vein.hope all goes well for you.are you having any actual symptoms or anything different than normal going on with you?please let me know how things go,K? Marcia

Re: why do an ultrasound on my liver?

As i am sure you have already been told, this is not a good combination Roger.high liver labs and drinking?AND being on lipitor?i can see why he is wanting a good look at your overall liver.you really DO need to think about dropping the alcohol out of your daily intake.this could be creating alot of problems just in and of itself that may possibly not even be there if the alcohol was excluded.its just not a good thing for you Roger, thats all.but of course, that is up to you to decide.try going without it for about a month or so and have your labs checked again and see what a difference this could possibly be making.this all just is not good for your liver.take care and hope things go okay with the US.please let me know how it goes.Marcia
