Hi--My husband has the double gene and is currently being treated for HH. My children are both carriers. So you are a carrier right? That would put you at risk for developing HH from what I understand. Maybe you are in the process of this at your age. My kids are in their 20's still too young I suppose.
Also, in the past year I was DX'd with anemia and learned a lot about ferritn because I had none. I was a 2, I learned that you can have a false elevation in the presence of inflammation of the body or disease.
FYI-- when my DH was DX'd they told him that he had Hep-C, I wasn't too happy, but it wasn't true. His Ferritin was just under 3,000, now he is down to 691. So how does your mom handle it? We have only known for a year. FLFLOWERGIRL
