Lipitor and Liver Problems - Liver & Pancreas Disorders Message Board

A friend just sent me an email about a man she works with. He was diagnosed with cirohossis of the liver last week. He says the doctor said it was "caused by Lipitor". Can someone tell me how they would know if it was caused by Lipitor????

I thought it was odd that a doctor would conclude that it was caused by Lipitor!

the medication can be harmful to the liver
if your on it you need reg blood test on your liver at least every 3 months
if it were me i would try a diet and exercise to lower colestrol if i could before taking medications
also fish oil is helpful
