Liver Biopsy - Liver & Pancreas Disorders Message Board

I have to have a biopsy done next week and was wondering if someone could tell me how that went for them and what all goes on. They are pretty sure I have a 5cm adenoma on my left lobe but want to do the biopsy to get a better idea. I should have surgery around the 2nd week in April.

I am pretty much freaking out about the biopsy and surgery!!

Please read through the liver adenoma thread, you are not alone. In there, I give a describe a laparoscopic biopsy and another of your new friends tells about her needle biopsy. We can answer any of your questions. Two of us are scheduled for surgery to have our adenomas taken out, one just went through it and is home.

My dad is having a biopsy tomorrow for a 3cm 'growth.' They never said 'adenoma.' Could this be what he has???

I only have done research on adenomas that are caused in women, mostly due to birth control pills. So sorry, but I don't have information beyond that. I will keep him in my prayers.
