| Re: Need For Worry?
honestly, the best possible way to really know whether or not this IS a liver problem for certain is to just see your primary doc for some simple bloodwork along with a referral for an ultrasound that will give an actual 'look' at the liver itself. bloodwork alone only tells part of the stroy. if you have these two things done and the liver checks out okay, then you can be pretty well assured that your liver is just fine. the combo of the two tests really is best if you really want the whole picture.
the problem with bloodwork alone is that you CAN be having some level of real damage or a condition going on but those actual lab numbers just will not actually change til a certain level of real damage or an issue is reached. i do have a major amount of real damage going on in my liver and my kidneys from a disease called polycystic kidney disease, but despite the real damage that shows up on all my ultrasounds and CTs, somehow my lab numbers still remain within all normal limits.
my right kidney is actually sitting in the FRONT of my body right alongside my ribcage since it popped out of my back two years ago when it just became too large to stay there from constantly forming poly cysts that have created kidneys that are more than four times their normal size at this point. BUT,still great looking labs as of feb 6 of this year when i had a shoulder surgery and they were all checked out pre op.
i know it really sounds insane but this IS how our bodies and organs just are. i would just see your doc and he will also do some palpating around on your abdomen to feel how your organs are and if anything is feeling a bit too big or not right in some way. then the bloodwork will be done. this just could be alot of different things besides your liver, really. its just a matter of testing and ruling out to get to the right Dx of any condition or problem. this 'could' possibly even be a gall bladder issue too or something very minor. just see your doc. hope all is well for you, please let me know what you find out.
