AST & ALT results-help!! - Liver & Pancreas Disorders Message Board

Can someone make any sence of these high results that my husband has:
ALT= 210
AST= 251
The paperwork from his bloodwork marked these both as high but I have not seen anything this high on recent google searches etc...

....very worried ....my husband is a VERY heavy drinker

do not be too concerned.

after a paracetamol od, my daughters ALT levels reached 2980! she did need to be in hospital to receive IV drugs but that was specially to do with the paracetamol.

these levels often rise because of alcohol consumption.

to be safe, get advise from your doctor.

wow...thank you for the reply.
a few years back he had a biopsy (due to "shadowing" on his liver) but of course did not stop drinking. He even admits he is a walking time bomb....high BP, diabetes....
Ive seen him drink a liter of vodka a day for weeks on end......I really wonder how much a body can take!!! again, thanks again for your reply.
